SFTP/FTPS/FTP Software Connection Credentials

For Hosting and Managed Server packages

Learn how to find your FTP user name and set a new password in order to connect and transfer files to and from your webspace.

You will need the information below in order to connect with your FTP software.

Host name or server name Port User name Password
The server name provided in the Secure FTP section
of your 1&1 Control Panel or any subdomain you have
created and configured in your account

Step 1
Log in to your 1&1 Control Panel and select the relevant package.

Click the Secure FTP Account link in the Hosting section.

You will see your FTP user name, an optional description and the webspace directory of the FTP account here.

For security reasons, the password is not be displayed in the Control Panel. If you do not remember your password, it will have to be reset by following the next steps.

Additional connection data will be displayed in a box on the right side.

Step 4
If you have lost or forgotten your password, you will have to reset it. To do so, click the User name you need to edit to open the settings.

Click the password row to set a new password. Optionally, you may also enter a Personal note of the FTP account such as "Main FTP Account" for your reference.
