Configure FileZilla with the 1&1 Configuration File

For Linux and Windows Hosting

Learn how to quickly and easily configure the FileZilla FTP client for your FTP account.

We have improved the FTP management section for you: You can now create a configuration file for each of your FTP users in your 1&1 Control Panel. This file contains all the necessary data and can be imported directly into FileZilla. You can then enter your password and immediately connect to your webspace.

Step 1
Log in to your 1&1 Control Panel and select the relevant package.
Step 2
Click the Secure FTP Account link from the Hosting panel.
Click FTP Account

Step 10
To manage your server entries, click File > Site Manager.

There should now be a profile entry with the FTP server name under My Sites. The example below shows a profile entry that was created after importing from a Linux hosting package. For Windows packages, in contrast, the FTPS protocol is used.

If you want to establish an FTP connection to your webspace right away, click Connect in the Site Manager. Then, enter the password for the FTP user and click OK.
