Find Your Domain's Authorization Code

If you want to transfer a domain to a different registrar, you will need the domain's authorization code. Use the steps below to find the domain authorization codes through the 1&1 Control Panel.

Authorization Codes can only be obtained for .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .name, .ca, .us, .mx, and domains registered with 1&1.

Step 1
Log in to the 1&1 Control Panel using your Customer ID OR domain name and your password.

If you have only one package, you will land on the Administration page. If you have more than one package, select the package in question to reach its Administration page.

Click Manage Domains from the Domains panel.

Click the arrow icon next to the domain in question to open a list of options. Domain center home page

Select Edit Domain Settings from the domain options menu. Domain center home page

The Authorization code is displayed on towards the bottom of the page. Basic settings page

Please note:
Only .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .name and .us have auth codes.

If you have more than 50 domains and wish to obtain the authorization codes, please send an e-mail to Include in your e-mail your customer ID.
