Reset DNS Settings for a Domain

Learn how to reset your DNS configuration for a domain back to the default settings applied by 1&1.

Please note:
Resetting your DNS settings back to default will cause your domain and e-mail to utilize the 1&1 services.

Please make sure you are prepared for the DNS reset before performing the reset as DNS changes may take 24-48 hours to complete.

Step 1
Log in to your 1&1 Control Panel and select the relevant package.

Select Domains under My Products in the left navigation bar.

You will then see an overview of all your available domains. Click the domain name you would like to reset.

You are now on the details page for your domain. Under the last item Reset domain, click the link Reset DNS or usage.

On the next page you will see all of the domain's DNS settings. If you wish, you can reset any of the settings listed under Your modified domain settings.

All settings are checked by default. If you do not want to reset a particular setting, remove the check mark for that setting under Configuration (A). Please note the information under Consequences. This information tells you the effect that resetting the setting will have.

Click Reset now (B) to reset the settings that your have selected. This step cannot be undone! DNS Settings Page

You can now once again adjust the settings according to your needs.
