Toggle Domain Auto Renewal

Learn how to set which domains you would like to automatically renew and which you would like to expire naturally at the end of their registration term.

The ability to toggle whether a domain should automatically renew is only available for domains registered to 1&1 that are invoiced.

Included Domains will always automatically renew at no extra cost, and cannot have the auto-renewal function disabled. If you do not wish to keep an included domain, you must Cancel the Domain from Your Package instead.

The auto-renew feature is enabled or turned on by default to ensure that your domain does not unintentionally expire, which can leave your website inaccessible and hurt the reputation of your business. You can disable domain autorenewal by following the steps below.

Step 1
Log in to your 1&1 Control Panel and select the relevant package.
Step 2
Click Manage Domains from the Domains panel.
Domains > Manage domains
Domains > Manage domains

Step 3
Each of your domains will be displayed with a row that shows you the current Auto Renewal status and the domain's auto renew date. To toggle the Auto Renewal status for a domain, click the arrow icon to display an options menu. Domains Overview page

Step 4
Click the switch under the details section of the options menu to turn off the auto-renewal feature. You will notice the switch is colored gray. This indicates the auto-renewal is currently turned off.
Please note:
If you do not see an auto-renewal switch, it is likely because your domain renews with the contract for free. If you do not need the domain any longer, simply Cancel the Domain from Your Package

Now the switch is blue and the status shows that the domain will renew at the specified date in the future. To set the domain to expire in the future, simply click the switch again. Options menu
